lying belly down
with my face along the edge
absorbing the pavement heat
finger tracing reflections along the surface, mesmerized
as bubbles break and return to air
and your honey colored skin shimmers
between the ripples
gliding back, you return
beneath the water
squinting from the glare of the sun
I considering joining you-
submersed entirely in your nearness
swimming the length of your smile
cooled by the cup of your hands
turning over
bathing in your love
