This is my bulleted list but you should still be able to
figure out the direction. Feel free to use it if you'd like to!
Tools needed - Rubber stamp with palm trees or stickers. The kids LOVED this!
Lesson:
Palm Sunday - The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19. I also used this link for some background.
Greetings
Today is Palm Sunday - We
celebrate Jesus’s Triumphal entry into Jerusalem as Lord of Lords during the
week of his crucifixion.
Remember last week, we talked about the importance of
sharing your testimony & witnessing. It spreads
the word. So, many people heard that
Jesus was going to Jerusalem and went to meet him there. Others had seen what
he had done and they too were excited.
When he was coming in, They waived palms
in the air to welcome him.
Palms
Signify goodness & victory
Solomon – had them on the wall
Revelations – people from every
nation raised them in victory
Have you seen in cartoons or movies when royalty comes in
they roll out the red carpet? To draw all attention from the center of the
entrance. They laid cloaks & Palm branches on road in the same manner.
Come in, come here – Hosanna
Stop right there!
Isaiah 49:16 says that God loves
you so much that he has your name written (engraved) on the palm of his hand.
Later he took a nail in that same spot for you.
Palm Tree stamp – I will meet you in the atrium and place a
palm tree stamp on your hands.
Every time you look at that today, I want you to stop and
remember 5 things.
Invite him in that moment. Where
ever you are, whatever your thinking, whoever your with. (Give some examples)
Written – He’s got a little
something on his hand for you too because he loves you.
Forgiven – It was by that mark you
were forgiven.
Go ahead - Claim it – Victory –
even if you’re not that close.
Praise
Closing Prayer
