Another Bedtime Story | Birmingham, AL

Hi Again!!!

At the end of our conference the last week, we all went out to dinner.
There was karaoke at the end.
(This is where different people get to take turns singing songs. Anyone can do it.)
Most of the people that sang all worked for the company that held the conference that we went to.
They were a really fun group! Here's some of them below.

I didn't sing but my friend Crystal did. She sings really good and she even sang "Pontoon" Sophie!!
I know you would love it.

Lisa and Crystal being silly.

The next day Papa Gary and Nana Brenda came to get me.

When we got home back there was a surprise.
They had found some kittens without their mama.
They were so small that we had to feed them from a bottle.

I like that he looks like he has a mustache.

They were SO sweet.

Papa Gary wasn't so sure about all this kitten business. haha
Just kidding. He just likes to act crunchy. He's pretty soft in the middle. :)

We had to take them to the shelter the next day because feeding babies from a bottle takes A LOT of time.

Here's the guy that you've been waiting for.
Jackson meet Jackson!

He wouldn't really warm up to me until almost the end.
It was hard to even get a picture.
I think he thought that I brought the kittens.
He was jealous.

It's too cold to swim here and so Papa put a fountain in the pool.
That is pretty cool.

We walked around and looked at Papa's property.
Here's Papa and Nana as scare crows.
With three pumpkins just for you.

Here's Papa's grapes.

He said he pruned them a little too much last year and so they didn't ripen in time this year.
They were pretty tough and sour.

Almost raisens.
Just kidding. These were old grapes. We're just being silly.

Here are his blueberries. He said that they did really good this year.
He has bags of them in the freezer.
I wanted to bring you some but I don't know how they would do on the plane.

He's just put seeds in his garden and some are starting to spout.
Those pictures didn't come out too well.

When everything is ready to be picked, he brings them over to this colander he made
and washes them all off outside.
Something tells me at our house, it would be full of trucks.

This is your Aunt Raven
She has three kids too but they didn't come out today.

We cooked a lot of stuff in the morning.

Jackson said it was all very good.
He was right.

We had a big fire.

Yesterday I went to see Granny and "Ant" Wynne.
We played Yahtzee and I let Granny win.
She said hi!

Look how tall my cousins are!
It always surprises me.

This might be kind of morbid for you but we went out to the cemetery today to say hi to Granny and Papa. While there we walked around and looked at head stones. The next few are pretty cool. I don't recall seeing any like this before.

I'm a little sappy but this one made me teary-eyed. Maybe it's the trees.
I thought you'd like the buck and turkey.

Cotton is in season here.
It looks so neat compared to our peanuts and corn.

It's hard to believe that those little cotton balls that we remove fingernail polish with
grow so plainly like everything else.

I picked you some.

Colin, I showed Dad your tree stand.
He said you could use the kids clubhouse in the back.
All the deer come in this corner anyway.
Then they go eat his garden and stomp on his tulips.

You've even got a little window that you can use for a gun rest. haha

And if your bored the corn all comes with targets on it here...
(It might there too but I had never seen it like that.)

I got a better picture of the garden today.

Then I leaned back and laid on the ground and stared at the sky.
The cloud on the right kind of looks like a heart.

It must know that I was thinking of you.

I wish that you could see the sky here.
With all of the fields, you don't have trees or buildings to block the view.
It looks like it goes on forever.
Unobstructed space.
At night it's like a blanket of stars but my phone can't seem to grasp it.
Nor can I.

I can't tell you how peaceful it is
to just lay around and soak it all up.

John 14:27 says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

You can buy an awful lot of things that you think might make you happy.
None of them will ever be as peaceful as a blanket of stars to tuck you in or a good warm kiss goodnight.

Enjoy your snuggles with Daddy tonight because tomorrow it will be with me!
YIPEE!

I love you all.
xoxo
